21 - 27 March: Work Week
Come and help us to prepare the centre for the new season with a week of physical work, laughter, conversation and evenings spent relaxing around the fire.
9 – 15 May: Off Grid, Off Oil - a low carbon life
Join us for a week experiencing and discussing life on the other side of the oil revolution.
Using the renovated Camas as our case study this is a week to explore how we can live a satisfying and enjoyable low carbon life. It flows from the Iona Community’s commitment to the Christian Aid ‘Cut the Carbon Campaign’ and will be of interest to people in Eco-congregations and those curious about what life might be like without oil. Start by travelling to Camas by public transport and sharing with others any difficulties you have had in getting here!
Led by Raymond Young, a Regeneration Consultant and Member of the Iona Community.

16 -22 May: Reading the Big Book
The Celts spoke of two books in which it was possible to discover or ‘read’ God: the little book was the Bible, and the big book was Creation.
This reflective and recreational programme offers the chance to join with others in reading from the ‘Big Book’ during the Hebridean springtime. The days are designed to allow a mix of structured activity and discussion sessions with individual exploration / reflection time.
Led by Kathy Galloway: practical theologian, writer, activist and Leader of the Iona Community.

25 -31 July: Community Kids’ Week
A week reserved for the kids (and grandkids) of Iona Community Members. Limited to kids aged from 10 to 17. Cost £181
September 26 – October 2: Ballads & Blethers
[Ballad (n): A song or poem that tells a story.
Blether (vb): To talk (often of frivolous matters)]
Singing and storytelling often feature highly at Camas. This week there will be the opportunity to enjoy, learn and share songs and stories of Mull, Iona and further afield. A light hearted programme with time spent out and about exploring the local area as well as cooryin’ in around our wood burning stove.
[Coorie (vb): to come closer, snuggle]
Led by two residents of the Ross of Mull: Jan Sutch Pickard , a member of both the Iona Community and the Scottish Storytelling Network , and Gillian Cummins, a former Iona Community Musician.

3 – 9 October: Wheesht…
[Wheesht: an interjection, used as a call for quiet]
A week for quiet relaxation. An easygoing programme which could include leisurely walks, quiet sessions in our art and craft room, exploring deserted beaches, times of silence, and plenty of time to sit in our cosy common room. Turn off your mobile phone, leave your worries at home, and let the tide carry away all your stresses and strains as it ebbs out of the bay…
